Principle: A defendant is liable only for damage that is a reasonably foreseeable consequence of their breach of duty; damage that is too remote, arising from an unforeseeable and unusual chain of events, will not be attributed to the defendant even where their breach was a factual cause of it. Facts: A construction company negligently leaves an uncovered pit on a public footpath. A pedestrian trips into the pit and, while being carried to a nearby clinic for treatment of a minor sprain, the clinic building coincidentally catches fire due to an unrelated electrical fault, causing the pedestrian severe burn injuries.

What is CLATcoach?

CLATcoach is an online coaching and practice platform for CLAT, the entrance exam for India’s National Law Universities, and for AILET and other law entrance exams. It is built and run by Iura, from Dwarka, Delhi; Ghaziabad & Noida.

Does CLATcoach have mock tests?

Yes. Full-length mocks follow the CLAT pattern of 120 questions in two hours, with negative marking and a report by section. There are also sectional tests, topic drills and past papers. The CLATcoach National Mock is a free all-India mock, open 30 Nov – 3 Dec 2026, with an all-India rank.

What is free on CLATcoach?

The 30-question diagnostic test, the daily question and games, and the daily legal updates are open to everyone. A free account adds one full-length mock, one past paper for each exam, 12 Legal GK headings and a sample Vocab deck. No card is needed.

How much does CLATcoach cost?

Plus is ₹1,499 and Pro is ₹3,999. Each is paid once and lasts until 31 December 2027, through CLAT 2028, with no renewal. The Complete Programme, a year of live classes for CLAT 2028, is ₹75,000.

Does CLATcoach have live classes?

Yes. Pro includes weekend live mock-solving sessions and recordings. Crucible is an eight-week sprint for CLAT 2027 with four live sessions a week. The Complete Programme has weekly live classes for one cohort of 100 students, taught in four batches of 25.

What else is on CLATcoach?
