The Bahali Award is the only scholarship CLATcoach offers, and it goes to one student each year — the top-ranked performer of the CLAT UG Complete Programme who secures admission to NLSIU Bangalore. It pays the tuition and facilities component of NLSIU’s annual fee notification for the recipient’s own year, paid directly to the university. Housing, mess, the one-time admission fee, security deposits and all other charges are excluded.
There is no application form. There is no committee. The award is decided by the only metric that matters — finishing first in your batch and earning your seat at NLS.

What NLSIU charges today
For illustration, at present rates. For 2026-27, year one, NLSIU lists ₹3,18,200 a year for tuition and facilities, ₹1,32,800 a year for housing, and ₹4,51,000 in all. The award covers only the tuition and facilities component. NLSIU bills by year of study and revises its fees every year, and the recipient’s own year will be notified separately, so the amount paid follows NLSIU’s notification for that year, not this figure. A scholarship is a signal,
not a discount.
Most CLAT scholarships are tiered, capped, and partial. They reward many students a little. The Bahali Award does the opposite: it concentrates the entire scholarship spend on one outcome — the student who proves, through a full programme cycle of timed performance, that they can hold the highest standard in the batch and then earns the country’s most competitive law-school seat.
That is the standard the award protects. It is named after the Bahali family — the founders of Iura — and exists so that no top student of a CLATcoach batch ever weighs tuition cost against attending NLS.

Performance, measured every week.
One score at the end.
Every Complete Programme student carries a composite performance score on their dashboard from the first week. The score updates after each test, so the batch ranking is never a surprise.
Full-length CLAT mocks
Average across all full-length CLAT mocks attempted during the programme cycle, weighted by date (more recent mocks count more).
Section-wise accuracy
Accuracy by section across mock tests, section tests, and previous-year papers — Legal Reasoning, English, Logical Reasoning, Quant, GK & Current Affairs.
Section test consistency
Coverage and accuracy across the in-house section tests for each subject, measuring depth beyond the full mocks.
Attendance-weighted participation
Live class attendance and structured engagement with the curriculum — drills, planner adherence, and review activity.
Final ranking is computed at the end of the programme cycle, two weeks after CLAT results. Tie-breakers (in the rare event of identical composite scores) apply in this order: higher CLAT raw score; higher Legal Reasoning accuracy across the cycle; higher average across the final eight full-length mocks.
A worked example
The numbers below are made up to show the arithmetic. They are not anyone’s result. Each component is first converted to a percentile within the cohort. Suppose a student lands on the 72nd percentile for full-length mocks, the 68th for section-wise accuracy, the 80th for section test consistency and the 90th for participation.
0.50 × 72 + 0.25 × 68 + 0.15 × 80 + 0.10 × 90 = 36 + 17 + 12 + 9 = 74.0
A student on 74.0 ranks above one on 73.9. If two students both reach 74.0, the higher CLAT raw score decides, then the higher Legal Reasoning accuracy across the cycle, then the higher average across the final eight full-length mocks.

These are the conditions that decide selection at the start, and renewal each year afterwards. They are written so that a student can read them once and know exactly where they stand.
Full enrolment in CLATcoach's CLAT UG Complete Programme
The candidate must have been a full batch student of the Complete Programme for the relevant year. Full-batch Complete Programme students only — excludes Crucible, the Crucible Mock Series, and any self-paced or partial enrolment. Trial users, partial enrolees, and students who joined mid-cycle without prior approval are also not in the Bahali pool.
First rank in the batch performance metric
The candidate must finish first on the composite performance score — full CLAT mock averages, section-wise accuracy, section-test consistency, and attendance-weighted participation, in the proportions set out above. Ties are broken in this order: higher CLAT raw score; higher Legal Reasoning accuracy across the cycle; higher average across the final eight full-length mocks. Rankings are visible on the student dashboard throughout the programme; the final ranking is published two weeks after CLAT results.
Confirmed admission to NLSIU Bangalore through CLAT
The candidate must secure a confirmed seat in the five-year integrated BA LLB (Hons.) programme at the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, in the same admissions cycle as their CLATcoach batch year. Admission must be through CLAT (or NLSIU’s notified equivalent for that cycle). Admission to any other NLU, any deemed university, or any other course at NLSIU does not qualify.
Continued enrolment at NLSIU each year
The recipient must remain enrolled as a registered full-time student at NLSIU Bangalore through every year for which the scholarship is claimed. Withdrawal, transfer, rustication, or extended discontinuation ends the award from that academic year onwards.
Good academic standing each year
The recipient remains in good academic standing under NLSIU’s academic regulations, with no carried-over failures. A year in which the recipient is not in good standing suspends the award for the next year. The award is reinstated automatically once good standing is restored.
No other full-tuition scholarship
The recipient cannot simultaneously hold any other full-tuition scholarship, full fee waiver, or equivalent benefit covering the same period — whether from a government scheme, trust, foundation, or private body. Partial scholarships, merit prizes, and stipends that do not cover tuition in full are permitted and do not affect this award.
Annual documentation, within 30 days of the academic year
Within 30 days of the start of each academic year at NLSIU, the recipient must submit (i) a registrar-issued proof of continued enrolment, (ii) the current year’s tuition fee demand notice from NLSIU, and (iii) a one-page declaration confirming that all conditions remain satisfied. Late submissions, without prior written approval from Iura, suspend the award for that year.
Direct disbursement to NLSIU
The Bahali Award is funded by Iura. Each year’s tuition is paid directly to NLSIU against the university’s fee demand notice. No money is routed through the recipient. The recipient is not required (and not permitted) to receive the funds personally and remit them to the university.
Scope: tuition and facilities only
The tuition and facilities component of NLSIU’s annual fee notification for the recipient’s own year, paid directly to the university. Housing, mess, the one-time admission fee, security deposits and all other charges are excluded. These remain the recipient’s responsibility.
Personal, non-transferable, non-monetisable
The Bahali Award is personal to the recipient. It cannot be transferred to another student, deferred to a later year, exchanged for a cash equivalent, or applied to any other programme or institution.
If the topper does not proceed to NLS
The award is structured around the NLS standard. If the rank-1 student does not secure or accept an NLSIU seat in the same cycle, the award lapses for that batch year and is not reassigned. The next year’s batch competes for a fresh award.
Annual review by Iura, no retrospective change
Iura reviews the structure of the award annually. Any change to the conditions, scope, or process applies prospectively from the batch year in which it is announced and does not affect a recipient who has already qualified under the prior terms.
Governing terms and jurisdiction
Eligibility and award conditions are governed by, and subject to, CLATcoach’s Terms of Service. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in New Delhi and conducted in English, with the courts at Delhi holding exclusive supervisory jurisdiction; statutory consumer remedies are preserved. What is the Bahali Award?+
The Bahali Award is a fully-funded merit scholarship from CLATcoach that covers the entire five-year BA LLB tuition at NLSIU Bangalore (National Law School of India University) for one student each year — the top-ranked performer of the CLATcoach CLAT UG Complete Programme who secures admission to NLS through CLAT.
Who is eligible for the Bahali Award?+
Any full-batch student of the CLATcoach CLAT UG Complete Programme is automatically considered. Eligibility narrows to a single recipient: the student who finishes first on the batch performance metric and obtains a confirmed CLAT seat at NLSIU Bangalore in the same admissions cycle.
Do I need to apply separately for the Bahali Award?+
No. There is no separate scholarship application. Every Complete Programme student is in the running by virtue of their enrolment. Selection is automatic based on the batch performance metric and confirmed NLSIU admission.
How is the batch topper decided?+
CLATcoach publishes a composite performance score for every student in the Complete Programme. The score weighs full-length CLAT mock averages, section-wise accuracy, attendance-weighted participation, and section test consistency across the programme cycle, and is visible on the student dashboard throughout. If two students have the same score, the tie is broken in this order: higher CLAT raw score; higher Legal Reasoning accuracy across the cycle; higher average across the final eight full-length mocks.

What happens if I do not get into NLSIU but get into another NLU?+
The Bahali Award is specific to NLSIU Bangalore. Admission to any other NLU does not qualify, even if the student is the batch topper. The award is structured this way so the standard the scholarship recognises remains absolute.
What if the topper does not take the NLSIU seat?+
If the rank-1 student declines or fails to confirm the NLSIU seat in the same admissions cycle, the award is not transferred to the next-ranked student. It lapses for that batch year. The award is offered each cycle to the topper who actually proceeds to NLS.
What do I need to maintain at NLSIU to keep the scholarship?+

Can I hold the Bahali Award alongside another scholarship?+

Is the Bahali Award means-tested?+
No. The Bahali Award is purely merit-based. Family income, financial need, and reservation category do not affect eligibility or selection.
