What the Summer Course is

The summer break is the one stretch of the year with no school timetable. For a student two or three years from CLAT, it is the easiest time to find out what the exam asks and to start the habits it rewards, without anything competing for attention.

The Summer Course runs over a few weeks in May and June 2027. It is for students who have just finished Class 10, who will sit CLAT 2029, and those who have just finished Class 11, who will sit CLAT 2028. It is live, it is short, and it is designed to end with a clear picture of where you stand and what to do next.

What the course covers

• How CLAT works: the five sections, the passage-based format, marking and negative marking, and how admission to the NLUs follows from your rank.
• Reading: how to read a 450-word passage for its argument, not its details, and how to build speed without losing accuracy.
• Legal Reasoning basics: applying a principle to facts using only what the passage gives you.
• Logical Reasoning basics: finding the claim, the evidence and the assumption in a short argument.
• A news habit: what to read, how long to spend, and how to keep notes you will actually use.
• Where you stand: a diagnostic at the start and a check at the end, with a plan for the months that follow.

Why use the summer break for CLAT?

CLAT is mostly a reading exam. Every section is built on passages, and reading speed and comprehension improve slowly with practice. A few weeks of focused work in the break, followed by a light daily habit through the school year, makes a real difference by the time serious preparation starts.

It is also a low-cost way to find out whether law suits you. Working through legal principles and arguments for a few weeks tells you more than any amount of reading about the profession.

What comes after the summer

Students who have finished Class 10 can continue into the two-year Foundation Course, which starts in April 2027 for CLAT 2029. Students who have finished Class 11 can continue into the one-year course, which starts in April 2027 for CLAT 2028. Neither is required: the Summer Course stands on its own.

Because both longer courses start in April and the Summer Course runs in May and June, a student can join the Summer Course alongside the first weeks of either, or take it on its own as a first step.

Fees and seats

The indicative fee is ₹9,999. There are 100 seats. Registering interest costs nothing and commits you to nothing; refund terms are published with the final fee, before any payment is taken.

The Summer Course is deliberately light. It is not meant to fill every day of the holidays, and it is not full exam preparation. Its aim is for your child to finish the summer knowing what CLAT involves, whether they enjoy the kind of thinking law requires, and with a reading habit they can keep in the school year.
