How to get the most from a CLAT test series
A test series only helps if the mocks are analysed. Taking a mock tells you your score; reviewing it tells you how to raise it. The students who improve fastest spend at least as long reviewing a mock as they did taking it.
- 01Start with sectionalsBefore full mocks, use sectionals to build method in each section without the pressure of the whole paper.
- 02Move to full mocks at a steady rhythmOne full mock a week is a good start; two or three a week in the final two months.
- 03Take them at exam timeCLAT runs from 2 to 4 pm. Sit mocks in that window when you can, so your concentration peaks when it needs to.
- 04Review every question you got wrong or guessedSort each error: did not know, misread, ran out of time, or fell for a trap. The categories tell you what to fix.
- 05Track sections, not only totalsUse the analytics to see which section is holding your score down, then spend the next week there.

How many mocks should you take?
There is no magic number, but quality beats quantity. Thirty mocks properly reviewed will do more than sixty taken and forgotten. A reasonable plan for a year of preparation is sectionals in the early months, weekly full mocks from about six months out, and two or three a week in the final two months, always with review.
Previous-year papers are worth doing in full and under time, because they show exactly what the Consortium sets. They are included in Basic and Premium.
Basic or Premium: how to choose
- Choose Basic if you want the full practice bank and analytics and are comfortable reviewing mocks on your own.
- Choose Premium if you want to see mocks worked through live each weekend, ask questions as they are solved, and have a fixed weekly point in your preparation.
- Choose 12 months if you are more than six months from your exam; it costs less per month and covers a full preparation cycle.
