SEBI directed all stock brokers to prominently display investor awareness messages on their websites and trading apps as part of 'Project Jagrook,' its nationwide investor-education initiative, timed to the upcoming World Investor Week 2026. The circular builds on an earlier SEBI circular of May 2023 that already requires brokers to display standard 'risk disclosures' to clients. From 5 to 31 October 2026, brokers must display the new awareness messages on their websites alongside the existing risk disclosures, and may optionally display them on their trading apps; thereafter, from 1 November 2026, the awareness messages become mandatory on the landing page of broker websites, and brokers must alternate daily between the awareness messages and the risk disclosures on their trading apps.

Stock exchanges and depositories must publicise the circular to their members, display the messages on their own websites, and amend their bye-laws and regulations as needed to implement it. SEBI may update the content of the messages from time to time. The circular is issued under Section 11(1) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, which empowers SEBI to take measures to protect investors and regulate the securities market.
