How is the rank gap calculated?
This tool converts your diagnostic score into an accuracy band and compares it qualitatively against 2026 closing-rank ranges for your target NLU. It is a heuristic to guide practice priorities, not a statistical rank predictor — CLAT rank depends on your performance relative to that year's entire applicant pool, which cannot be known in advance.
Are the NLU closing ranks on this page verified?
These closing ranks are compiled from publicly available CLAT counselling data and are indicative, not officially verified per university. Actual cutoffs vary by round, year, and seat matrix changes — confirm current-year figures on the official CLAT consortium counselling portal before finalising a preference list.
What should I do if my target NLU is not listed?
We only publish a rank range for NLUs where we have at least an approximate general-category closing rank on record. If your target NLU is missing, treat any number you find elsewhere with the same caution and confirm it against the official CLAT consortium counselling portal before relying on it.
